Time and Eternity are two concepts in one single and sequential melody that first touched me two months after my birth. The bells of the church in my neighborhood rang joyfully accompanying a certain triumphant faith. “Christ is Risen– Indeed, the Lord!” The same melody emphasizes the profound imperative: “Search the scriptures.”
I began to form the simple faith that Christ is risen; therefore we can be risen, too.
I remember hearing from my school days that the apostle Paul had divided the day into three ascending octaves of duties. During the first octave, we work to provide necessities for ourself and family. In the second octave, we cooperate with other companions for the common good. During the third octave, we rest our whole ‘being’–contemplating and developing gratitude for the gift of eternal life.
Time and Eternity and the Six Processes
We experience Time slowly, usually through six physical processes which imperceptibly happen altogether within our being.
*During the process of Growth, or Development, we must repeatedly observe our “All” and “Everything” without identification. Be ready by intention to work on self-recognition.
*During the process of Destruction, we must eliminate weedy “I’s” by plowing the ground of Truth. Hold your will and continue.
*During the process of Digestion, or Transformation, we must methodically refine the functions of our lower centers and root Love as our ultimate purpose. Putting aim to the front.
*Realizing the process of Crime, we must overcome any corruption as our pace slows. Back, weedy ‘I’s!
*During the process of Healing, or Therapy, we invent the right healing to realign ourselves towards our purpose. Here, we complete our Aim.
*Finally, in the process of Regeneration, we raise our ‘being’ and simultaneously can create or appreciate nature and art. BE.
A Sequence to Hold Time and Eternity
We can succinctly render a ‘Sequence’ of the six natural processes using six ‘I’s. ‘I’s that remind us of our esoteric work: ‘Be’, ‘Hold’, ‘Aim’, ‘Back’, ‘Aim’, ‘BE.’
The Fourth Way calls the internal leader of our soul who discovers the ‘Sequence’ of the six most bright “I’s” the ‘Steward‘. Its aim is to impose the rhythm of the universe throughout our lower centers, according to the Universal Law of Octaves.
By divine grace and our will, the Steward emanates from the intellectual part of our lower emotional center to restore any breathlessness of the lower centers.
Weighing scale and relativity, the Steward vibrates the six oxygenating ‘I’s into a single ‘Sequence,’ like vibrating a pneumatic fan.
The Role of the Steward and the Nine of Hearts
The Steward is able to impose stillness on useless ‘I’s to gain unity in his ‘Hestia.’ This Greek term refers to the most refined space of our lower emotional center. The Tarot’s symbol for this part of ourself is the ‘nine of hearts.’
The Steward creates light, within time, by developing an earthly consciousness that can touch the celestial objective consciousness of our two higher centers. Ecstasy ensues among four silent breaths, signifying four distinct states: Self-Respect and Supplication, Self-Justification, Relief, and Infinite Gratitude.
In such a moment, ‘Time’ turns into ‘Eternity.’
