My eight-year-old granddaughter wrote in the first report of this school year, on “My School”:
“I go with my dad and my little twin brothers… We wake up very early in the morning. I have joy… Sometimes we run on the road to catch up. Our road goes downhill, then flattens out. Then it goes uphill and I reach the yard with the trees, the children, my friends, and the teacher. Our teacher is the best teacher. I love her very much. And school shows us how to find the solution to our problem. We begin with a prayer.”
In this article, My School – The Way of Love, I respond like a little child, too. My own simple words radiate a buried primordial divine consciousness.
- Any path we take in life includes an odyssey – going “downhill” – the processes of developing or unfolding ourselves. We have an unconscious intention to connect with the eternal life energy.
- We aim to learn to evaluate and utilize the cellular, molecular, and spiritual worlds within us—and outside of us, in Nature.
- With our will, we refine our being with innumerable processes of purification or otherwise destruction of our own unnecessary qualities. We are on the right track.
- Our being develops, through successive processes of transformation, into a braver, more honest, and conscious energy.
- We meet challenges again, these repeated examinations of what we have assimilated. Through unstable processes of corruption or crime, we pull ourselves upward to ascend to a realm of higher vibrations.
- Our respectable will brings our being to the courtyard of a school, for conscious learning of our potential.
- And just as the multi-talented Odysseus is led, emaciated, by divine providence to the threshold of the country of the Phaeacians, so is each student led without full consciousness of himself, to a school of all possibilities – the development of the human being. There, healing processes occur in everyone’s being. With prayer and will, students begin and gratefully complete a new type of lesson.
In this situation, ‘Self,’ ‘Classmates,’ and ‘Master’ cooperate by divine providence. Each gains evolved resources to fulfill his destiny at a higher level of self-awareness.
It is impressive how, in Homer’s Odyssey, the Phaeacians gain valuable information about the world from all of Odysseus’ sufferings and lessons. They appreciate the hero and his needs. All of them contribute to devising a safe solution to his worldly problems. After providing honorable hospitality, the Phaeacians gift Odysseus with ships of excellent technology and, using wise ways of handling them, allow Odysseus to reach his final destiny.
In Greek, ‘Σύμπνοια-Sympnoia, Ομόνοια-Homonoia, Διάνοια-Dianoia’, mean sympathy, unity, and intelligence, respectively. These are the states of expanded consciousness of our being. These states ignite our divine axis and lead to the process of rebirth and the way of love that connects us to the eternal light.
