Developing Being

Developing being, Fellowship of Friends

I remember, as a little child in the doctor’s office, that my first encephalography showed unequivocally: “Unwritten map. It requires impressions”!

The doctor’s comment seemed malicious to me, for I still retained a faint impression that “unwritten map” was a wonderful state of being in the cosmic vast beyond. I remained like a little angel in an ethereal space, without much ability to gain necessary earthly qualities.

My developing being came through hearing, observing, and speaking little. Negative impressions surrounded my being, but were unable to penetrate it. On my lonely earthly journey, arguments happened and threats were made, such as: “Sit down wisely, because…”! And when sometimes I asked what “sit down wisely” meant, the answer was: “‘Wisely’ means keeping the right attitude!”

What did they mean?

After that, I fell from my clouds.

The first cry for help came from my emotional center. Studying holy and ancient scriptures, I found that the Fourth Way system of the inner ascent of man contained information in such a way that I was able to receive it and bring it into practice.

Now I attend a Fourth Way school where the teacher works as a conscious bridge between students and higher influences. Slowly and methodically, I notice that my I’s come from various parts of my four lower centers. And I have to tame them.

Over time, I realize that developing being is slow and often hindered externally and internally. Our human nature runs rampant, with the three downward natural processes (growth, elimination, and crime) prevailing over the three upward ones (digestion, healing, and regeneration), corrupting all Nature, too.
[For more on the six cosmic processes, see issue, https://fourthwaytoday.org/category/six-processes/]

Much later, channeling successive sequences of six work I’s, I recognize that states of identification prolong these downward processes.

States of being for humans include conception, birth, development, establishment of personality, and discovery of essence. They can also lead to spiritual purpose and emotional and intellectual transformation. Soon, I understand once and for all that my own “right attitude,” acting as a first force, welcomes whatever comes as the second (denying) force. With these transformations, my being gratefully welcomes itself anew. Rising higher, the divine light is the third (reconciling) force within me.

Some inner work may be needed in pre-school days. We have to understand and not forget the laws of the universe that foster the unity of our cellular body, our molecular soul, and our conscious spirit. Our being makes cycles round the luminous axis of the Divine Light. It simmers until its fragrance rises upward, towards the beyond, like ambrosia and nectar, the food of the ancient Greek gods.

As for my own being, it still makes cycles, shedding the superfluous, until it is taken up as an unwritten map into the conscious vast beyond.
