The author describes how, in a school of awakening, one uses methods to develop a steward to empower ‘Real I.’
We may wonder each moment, where are we going? When this question touches on our need for divine guidance, it can be a moment of awakening.
Gurdjieff writes that all phenomena in life arise from ‘three factors of causality’ (three forces). And there are six processes that these factors produce, again and again. Rodney Collin described them as growth, digestion, elimination, crime, healing, and regeneration. In this work to awaken, we need to understand when and how these processes affect us.
Using Methods in a School of Awakening
We step on the path to awakening and become aware of how we have reacted to events in the past. In a school of awakening, we aim to understand the repercussions of our actions, in the present. We try methods that come from schools across time to improve how we participate in the processes of our lives. How can we exit from darkness to light?
In a school of awakening, we work and communicate with people who practice the same methods. Our interactions, through the ‘three lines of work,’ become more and more refined. Our inner observing ‘I’ lends force to the development of our inner ‘steward.’ The increasing strength of this steward aids the mastery of our soul.
Developing a Steward to Empower ‘Real I’
The steward improves the functioning of the four lower centers. It promotes the possibility for our higher centers to awaken. The massive vital energy of our Real I, or true self, represents the state of awakening. This state reflects the teacher’s developed third eye and consciousness, as well as Divine Presence.
I have verified what Rodney Collin mentions in his book, The Theory of Celestial Influence:
“The saints and the great masters, spreading the light of truth into the darkness of ignorance, and keeping, according to secular laws, the students who revolve around and depend on them, imitate the sun’s source of light, and themselves achieve it.”
Rodney Collin
We can watch each step in our progress from darkness (sleep) to the light (awakening of higher centers), as part of a play. This play has no borders or time limits. Studying and recognizing the human types, as well as our chief weaknesses (features), are lessons for those who hunt the light. With what we learn, we go forth, until the right sequence of our actions unites us with our divine Self and the universe.

The grand scale of growth of being thoughtout more tham one lifetime, is also the instant scale of our efforts. We do move between, and in connection to, the “Hell” of our lower mechanics, the ‘Earth’ of a more sensible personality, then the Purgatory of the Steward engagement, the Paradise of Essence, and the Heaven of Higher Centers. “Remember that Presence is both instant and infinite” Robert Burton.
